What sets Fred apart from other consultants is his unique perspective on communicating information. He developed his expertise producing information-based entertainment programming for various broadcast and cable networks including, The Discovery Channel, History Channel, Fox, CBS, A&E and many other programmers. He has produced television programs and marketing communications campaigns in 33 states and 10 countries. For more than twenty years in this very competitive field, Fred developed his communication skills by perfecting the art of making pitches to clients with concise, creative information, in a way that peaks curiosity and earns their trust.

As a television producer, he must present information concisely and creatively, while appealing to a specific audience. As a consultant, he helps professionals understand how to communicate to their audience in a way that will open the doors to improved business relationships.

Fred has developed training and marketing campaigns for a broad range of companies including IMG, Steiner Leisure, Greenberg Traurig, and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.



DAVID SPETNER, Principal Partner
David is 20-year advertising veteran and communications executive in Los Angeles who has created campaigns for a broad range of companies including Universal Studios, Paramount Pictures, Gursey Schneider, LLP, the United States Marine Corp, DIRECTV and other internationally known clients. His expertise includes; designing programs and communication strategies, advertising and public relations, public speaking, and marketing ideas with an emphasis on writing skills.

Through more than two decades of pitching clients and the media, David has honed the art of creating effective, compelling business presentations. He also understands the power and entertainment value of humor – he has been a professional improvisational comedian and comedy writer for Steve Allen, Jay Leno and Joan Rivers, among others.

DEBRA K. STERN, Associate
Debra has an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Her expertise is in marketing and business analytics.  She was the director of marketing at MacKnight Inc., responsible for all external communications and marketing strategies for this gourmet food importer.  Her duties included strategic consulting and analysis, marketing and strategic product development.  As a consultant, she helped launch the introduction of new pharmaceuticals to the public, creating consumer-friendly positioning for a technically difficult product. 

Debbie has also worked with Fortune 500 companies, where her communications expertise included making presentations to the corporate board and conducting customer and competitor interviews.  She joins SMG after serving three years as Vice-President of the Board at the Jewish Community Center in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
